Jeffersonville High School Project Overview

The overall project is 49% complete and we have expended approximately $18.5 million dollars. 

Units A/B - Addition
Installation of the metal roofing system at the main entrance and at the North and South entrances continues.  Ceiling grid and light fixtures have been erected in Unit A and we continue to work in Unit B.  The setting of casework is scheduled for November 11th.  Storefronts will be erected during the week of November 3rd thus allowing us to heat the new addition.  We are still scheduled to turnover this area to the Owner during Christmas Break, thus allowing construction trades to occupy the old administration area.

Units B and D, 2nd Floor
This area was completed and turned-over to the Owner for their use.  Sixteen classrooms will be transitioned from the middle section of the 2nd floor into the newly renovated classrooms.

Unit E – Main Entrance
A temporary enclosure has been erected in order to complete the interior finishes within the entrance.  Once the storefronts are complete at Units A/B addition, Unit E will be erected.

Unit F – Entrance and Cafeteria Expansion
The mechanical hook-ups to the new Air Handling Units are nearly complete.  In addition, the pulling of electrical wire and final terminations to the new switchgear will be completed this month.

Unit J – Gymnasium and Unit K Auxiliary Gymnasium
We have started erecting acoustical wall panels within the Auxiliary Gym and the completion of the panels will be performed over Christmas Break.

Unit J – Stairs and Elevator Addition
Concrete foundations will be complete by the middle of November.  Masonry contractor is scheduled to remobilize on November 10th to start erecting masonry at this location.  Elevator casing was drilled in early November.

Jeffersonville High School Project Overview

The overall project is 44% complete and we have expended approximately $13 million dollars.  The existing roof elevations have been re-roofed with the exception of the 2-story building, thus solving a vast majority of the roof leaks within the building.  Also, a portion of the building is running off the new electrical transformers which were set and energized this past summer.  On October 17th, one of the old transformers will be decommissioned and electrical feeders will be transferred to one of the new transformers.

The new boilers, pumps and water heaters are energized and operational.  The new gas service and meters have been set and are waiting for final transition from the building to the new meter which will be performed on October 17th.  Several classrooms were renovated during the summer months and are being utilized as temporary classrooms while a Southern portion of the 2nd floor is being renovated.

Units A/B - Addition
Erection of exterior and interior masonry is complete.  Interior metal studs and drywall have been erected in Unit A.  Overhead rough-ins for mechanical, electrical and fire protection are approximately 90% complete.  Installation of exterior windows and placement of the roofing system are complete.  Aluminum storefronts will be erected during the month of October.  We are scheduled to turnover this area to the Owner during Christmas Break thus allowing construction trades to occupy the old administration area.

Units B and D, 2nd Floor
Erection of mechanical/electrical overhead rough-ins and the installation of ceiling grid are complete.  Light fixtures are being set within the grid system.  Re-setting of the toilet fixtures in order to meet ADA requirements is complete.  Painting of the classrooms, restrooms and corridor is complete.  Placement of floor finishes has commenced.

Unit E – Main Entrance
The placement of the roofing system, installation of the exterior windows and placement of the EIFS system are complete.  Interior bulkheads have been erected and the installation of the ductwork within the bulkheads is complete.  Overhead and wall rough-ins for electrical rough-ins are complete.  New storefronts will be erected during the month of October thus allowing the installation of interior finishes.

Unit F – Entrance and Cafeteria Expansion
The erection of structural steel and the placement of the concrete slabs are complete for the new entrance and cafeteria expansion.  Erection of metal stud framing and masonry continues along the exterior skin of the building.  The new air handling units and electrical switchgear units have been placed on the mezzanine level and are currently being hooked-up.  Placement of the roofing system is scheduled to commence during the 2nd week of October.

Unit J – Gymnasium and Unit K Auxiliary Gymnasium
The re-routing of roof drains, erecting of new ductwork and the erection of new sprinkler lines are complete.  Installation of new acoustical panels in the Auxiliary Gym is scheduled for Christmas Break.  The expansion of the mezzanine decks within the (2) mechanical rooms continues and is expected to be completed this month.

Exterior Shell of the Building
The erection of the Exterior Insulation Finish System (EIFS) is complete along the East and West elevations of the 2-story building.  The overall placement of the roofing system is 90% complete which is ahead of schedule.  Exterior windows are being installed along the East and West elevations of the 2-story building.

Jeffersonville High School Project Overview

Units A/B - Addition
Erection of structural steel and erection of exterior masonry are nearing completion.  Placement of floor slabs is complete.  Erection of metal stud framing along the East elevation of the existing building will be complete by Tuesday, August 6th thus allowing the placement of the roofing system.

Unit A – Future Science Classrooms
All underground rough-ins are complete and the placement of the floor slabs is scheduled for Thursday, August 8th.

Units B and D, 2nd Floor
Demolition is complete.  Erection of mechanical/electrical overhead rough-ins continued.  Masonry patching, masonry in-fills and erection of new masonry walls are complete.

Unit C – Future Science Classrooms Renovation
Erection of ceiling grid and placement of new light fixtures are progressing and will be operational for the start of school.  Casework has been delivered and will be set prior to the start of school.

Unit D - Classroom Renovation
Ceiling systems are being erected within the room.

Unit E - Future MDF Room
The transition of the data system occurred last month as scheduled.  The ceiling system and placement of the remaining VCT will occur this month.

Unit E – Main Entrance
Structural steel has been erected and erection of parapet wall has commenced.  New entrances to the Media Center have occurred.  This entrance will be utilized by the students and staff for the start of school.

Unit F – Entrance
Building foundations have been poured and placement of the floor slab is scheduled for Monday, August 5th.  Steel erection will commence after the slab placement.  This entrance will be utilized by the students and staff for the start of school.

Boiler Room
The new electrical switchgear and exterior transformers were energized during the month of July.  In addition, the gas company has routed their new gas line to the new gas meter.  The mechanical contractor is scheduled to route his line from the meter to inside the building prior to the start of school.

Unit J – Gymnasium
The new mechanical units have been set and erection of new mechanical ductwork is complete.  New sprinkler piping has been erected outside the mechanical rooms.

Exterior Shell of the Building
The EIFS system is currently being erected along the West elevation and they will proceed to the East elevation once they are complete with the West elevation.  A new roofing system has been placed on 90% of the existing roof system.

Jeffersonville High School Project Overview

Units A/B - Addition
Foundations are complete and facebrick is being erected on the exterior skin of the building.  Mechanical and electrical underground continue to be placed within the building footprint.  Placement of floor slabs is scheduled for July 2nd and 7th.  Erection of remaining structural steel will commence subsequent to the placement of slabs.

Unit A – Future Science Classrooms
Demolition is complete and the General Contractor is proceeding on foundations.

Units B and D, 2nd Floor
Demolition of carpeting is complete in the classrooms and the only areas that remain are the corridors.  Overhead and wall rough-ins continue.

Unit C – Future Science Classrooms Renovation
Underground installations are complete.  Placement of slab is scheduled for July 7th.

Unit D - Classroom Renovation
Masonry walls are being painted and overhead installations continue to be erected.

Unit E - Future MDF Room
Interior walls have been painted and the placement of the flooring system is complete.  MDF equipment will be set on July 3rd.  This room is expected to be turned-over to the Owner during the 2nd week of July. 

Unit E – Main Entrance
Demolition and steel erection is complete.  During the week of June 30th, the underground plumbing line will be installed.

Unit F – Entrance
Building foundations have been determined and excavation of foundations is expected to commence the first week of July.

Unit F - Boiler Room
Back-filling and the placement of underground plumbing is complete within the  recessed area of the boiler room.  Slab placement will be performed during the 2nd week of July.

Electrical switchgear is set and the electrical wire has been pulled from the switchgear to the exterior location of the new transformers.  Duke Energy has approved this installation and will proceed on installing their feeders from the transformers to the street location.

Unit J – Gymnasium
Demolition of the ductwork system is complete and erection of the new spiral ductwork has started.  Erection of the sprinkler system is complete for this area with the exception of the mechanical rooms. 

Exterior Shell of the Building
The removal of the exterior facebrick and masonry block at the West elevation of the 2-story building is complete.  Parapet wall is being constructed along this elevation.  General contractor is proceeding with the removal of the exterior skin along the South elevation. 

Roof Level
Placement of the new roofing system is approximately 50% complete. 

Site Work
As of June 30th, the gas company started the installation of the new gas line from Allison Lane to the new location of the meter.  The setting of new meter(s) and the removal of the old meters will be complete prior to the start of school in the Fall.

Jeffersonville High School Project Overview

Units A/B - Addition 
Placement of foundations is nearly complete.  Majority of the structural steel is set with exception of the metal joists and decking.  Exterior masonry walls are being erected.  Mechanical and electrical underground continue to be placed within the building footprint in order to place the new concrete floors.

Unit J - Elevator/Stairs Addition
Topsoil has been removed, demolition has been completed and a temporary fence has been erected in order to isolate this area from students.  Placement of elevator foundations is being held-up due to an unforeseen storm line which is lying within our new building foundations.

Boiler Room
One of the existing chillers has been relocated and reconnected at its temporary location.  The old chiller and boilers have been removed from the building.  We are in the process of back-filling the recess area of the boiler room in order to pour a new concrete slab at the same elevation as the surrounding slabs.

The new boilers and pumps have been set and pipe connection to the mechanical units is complete. 

Unit A – Future Science Classrooms
As of June 4th, we started demolition activities within this classroom which will be followed by new foundations.

Unit C – Future Science Classrooms Renovation
Demolition activities and the placement of concrete are complete.  We are currently working on erecting structural steel within this classroom.    

Unit D - Classroom Renovation
Demolition activities, erection of structural steel, placement of concrete and erection of masonry walls are complete.  We are currently erecting new overhead installations within these classrooms.    

Unit E - Future MDF Room
Currently the Owner’s computer equipment has been relocated out of these rooms.  The demolition activities and the erection of interior walls are complete.  Painting is scheduled to start during the week of June 9th.   Once the flooring and painting are complete, the new MDF equipment will be set and terminated.

Unit E – Main Entrance
Started demolition activities at this building entrance and at the adjacent classroom. 

Units B and D, 2nd Floor
We have started the demolition activities for the 2nd floor classrooms.

Exterior Shell of the Building
We have started the removal of exterior facebrick and masonry block at the West elevation of the 2-story building followed immediately with the installation of new metal studs and drywall.

Roof Level
Existing chimney stack has been demolished to the roof level.  Roofing contractor continues to vacuum/remove all the loose rock from the various roof levels.  Application of the roofing system has commenced at the West elevation of the building and will proceed to the East elevation.

Site Work
The feeder conduit from the new electrical transformers to the new switchgear location has been installed.  The placement of the new transformer pads is complete and installation of the feeder conduit to Allison Lane is complete.  The new transformers that were furnished by Duke Energy have been set and will be energized once the electrical feeds have been installed from the interior switchgear to the new transformers.

Jeffersonville High School Project Overview

 Units A/B - Addition
Placement of foundations is nearly complete and erection of structural steel is scheduled to commence during the week of May 12th.  The mason continues to place foundation block.  Backfilling of new foundations have started.

 Unit J - Elevator/Stairs Addition
Topsoil has been removed, demolition has been completed and a temporary fence has been erected in order to isolate this area from students.  Excavation for elevator foundations will commence during the week of May 12th.

 Boiler Room
One of the existing chillers has been relocated and reconnected at its temporary location.  The other chiller and boilers have been removed from the building.  We are in the process of back-filling the recess area of the boiler room in order to pour a new concrete slab at the same elevation as the surrounding slabs.

The new boilers have been set and pipe connection to the units is complete.  Boiler pumps are being delivered and set on their housekeeping pads.

 Unit E - Future MDF Room (Main Distribution Frame)
Currently the Owner’s computer equipment has been relocated out of these rooms.  Erection of temporary partitions and demolition activities will be completed by the end of the month.

 Unit D - Classroom Renovation
Demolition within this classroom has been completed, structural steel has been erected and backfilling of the area is complete.  Placement of concrete is scheduled for the week of May 12th.

Unit C - Science Classroom Renovation
Demolition within this classroom is nearly complete.  Saw-cutting and removal of existing slab for future foundations has started.

Roof Level
Existing chimney stack has been demolished to the roof level.  Roofing contractor is preparing to vacuum/remove all the loose rock from the roof level.  Once this is complete, the roofing system will be installed from the West direction to the East portion of the building.

Site Work
The feeder conduit from the new electrical transformers to the new switchgear location has been installed.  The placement of the new transformer pads is complete and installation of the feeder conduit to Allison Lane is complete.  We are now waiting on Duke Energy to set their new transformers and set a new utility pole along Allison Lane.
