Floyd Central High School Project Overview
Site Work
We will begin removal of the lay down area during the month of May and should be complete by the end of May. Contractors have started removing items no longer needed and some of the empty storage units have been removed. Will complete the remaining light poles and finish the site work. The remaining Progress Meetings after May 25th will be held in the Distant Learning Room until completion of the project.
New 2-story Classroom Addition – Administration Area
The terrazzo in the Rotunda is complete.
Partial Upper Unit C / Unit A (Band / Orchestra Addition)
The painting of the Upper East Side of the Gym has been completed; the rest of the Gym will be painted and the Gym floor will be refinished during the summer break. Installation of the new baseball nets, divider curtains and relocation of the basketball goals has begun.
Commons Area
The ceramic tile is being completed outside the Cafeteria; the punch list has been issued and should be completed prior to Graduation.
Mechanical Pipe Routes
The pipe routes are complete throughout the building with the exception of some old piping in the hallway by the Two Story Addition that needs to be demo’d during the summer break.
New Kitchen & Cafeteria
The bar stool tops have been installed in the Cafeteria.
New Science Rooms
The casework modifications have been completed and the punch list is being issued. The additional work for the gas shut off valves has been approved and the work will be completed during the summer break.
New Media Center
The display cabinets have been completed.
Unit B – Auditorium
The refinishing of the Stage flooring and painting will be done during the summer break. The renovation of the old Black Box Theater has been completed.
Skylights and Light Monitors
All of the light monitors are complete and the skylights will be installed during the summer break.
Partial Phase 3A
The framing and masonry are complete. The drywall is 75% complete. The ceiling grid and painting have begun and the last of the student restrooms are 30% complete.
Old Media Center
This area is 100% complete, with the exception of the corridors. (Please refer to Corridors section below).
Main Gym
The painting and the motorized basketball goals are complete. The refinishing of the Gym floor will be completed over the summer break.
Corridors
The School’s “A” Hallway and partial “B” Hallway, skylights, ceilings, bulkhead and the flooring will be completed during the summer break. The remaining lockers are scheduled to be installed May 22nd. All other corridors will be complete with the exception of some flooring where the temporary lockers are in use, the flooring in these areas will be completed during the summer break.

Floyd Central High School Project Overview
Site Work
The site work at the new Band Storage Area is complete. Partial Punch List has been issued and will be completed in spring/early summer. There is a small amount of site work at the lay down area which is scheduled to be completed early summer.
New 2-story Classroom Addition – Administration Area
The terrazzo design and colors are being selected. The terrazzo at the Main Rotunda is scheduled to be completed in June.
Partial Upper Unit C / Unit A (Band / Orchestra Addition)
Will continue working on the flooring, casework and display cabinets in front of the Auditorium.
Pool/Pool Storage Rooms
The Pool is complete, including the HVAC unit.
Commons Area
The ceramic tile is 60% complete. Will continue working on the flooring. The display cabinets are ready to be installed.
Mechanical Pipe Routes
The mechanical room work will continue throughout the project.
New Kitchen & Cafeteria
Will continue working on installing the casework (barstool tops) in the cafeteria.
New Science Rooms
The Owner moved into these rooms prior to Christmas Break. Casework modifications will continue on second shift.
New Media Center
The Owner moved into this area in November. Work will continue on the display cabinets and on the punch list.
Unit B – Auditorium
The refinishing of the Stage flooring will be scheduled for a later time. Renovation of the old Black Box Theater has begun.
Skylights and Light Monitors
Several light monitors are complete. Will continue working on the rest of them, including the skylights, throughout the school year.
Partial Phase 3A
The demolition is complete on 30% of this phase. Framing is nearly complete for this portion. Underground plumbing and electric have begun and will continue. Drywall has been hung on Corridor walls and some new lockers have been installed. This phase is scheduled to be complete the beginning of March; then will begin work on the remaining portion.
Old Media Center
The demolition and framing are complete, drywall hanging and finishing is 60% complete. Ceilings, casework, and flooring will begin. The CAD Room drywall is nearly completed. These areas are scheduled to be completed February 28th. The Owner has moved into one room already.
